Configuring Contenta for LDAP on all Contenta Windows Administration clients
An Administration Client is a workstation on which the Content Explorer Client software was installed using the Custom option.
Procedure
- Access one of your Contenta Windows Administration Clients.
- Start the Windows Registry Editor and navigate to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\XyEnterprise\Content@\3.0\.
- Change the value data of the string value named
XYE_PDM_AUTHENTICATION from INTERNAL to LDAP.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- From the distr\ActivDir subdirectory of your Contenta_home directory, copy the configuration file xyldap.cfg to the bin\ subdirectory of your Contenta_home directory.

- Settings, default, and description for the xyldap.cfg file for a reference of all the settings in the file.
- Copy the file xyauth.dll from one of the following locations to the System\ subdirectory of the Contenta_home directory, overwriting any existing file by that name:
- If you use Active Directory, copy xyauth.dll from distr\ActivDir\
- If you do not use Active Directory, copy xyauth.dll from distr\standard\
- Restart PcmPortal (the XyEnterprise Contenta Server service).
- If you have another Contenta Windows Administration Client setup, access that client and perform the same procedure.
