Overview of the Steps to Delete Objects

You can delete objects using the reap_delete command.

About this task

This overview includes the use of the reap_report command.

Procedure

  1. Run pltrim (parent list trim) to remove erroneous entries in the parent_list database relation. This step can be combined with the reap_report and the reap_delete command by using the -pltrim switch.
The pltrim file is in the Contenta /bin/reap directory—see the Parent List Trim Command.
  2. Execute the verilk command with the -relations switch to ensure that the parent_list is accurate. This step can be combined with the reap_report or the reap_deletecommand by using the -verilk switch.
  3. Issue the checkblobs command to ensure that the blobs are not corrupt.
  4. Optionally, execute the reap_report command to create a list of objects to delete from the database—see Syntax for reap_report.
