Configuring Arbortext Editor

Follow these steps only if installing or upgrading Arbortext Editor after installing SDL Contenta.

Before you begin

The Java Runtime version (or later) required for the installed version of Contenta is a prerequisite for running ArbortextEditorSetup.jar on Contenta Explorer clients. Consult the Platform Requirements for the installed version of Contenta for the required Java Runtime version.

About this task

  • The log file for the program in these procedures is written to the Contenta_home/logs directory and named ArbortextEditorSetup.log.

To run the program using the defaults on Windows systems, follow the procedure below. To specify options to override the defaults when you run the program, see the ArborTextEditorSetup Configuration File topic.

Procedure

  1. As the Administrator user, at a command prompt, go to the Contenta_home/encaps/EpicEdit/Setup directory.
  2. Enter the following command: ArbortextEditorSetup.jar.

    A dialog box appears prompting you to confirm running the setup with the default options. (The defaults are noted in the ArborTextEditorSetup Configuration File topic).

  3. Click Yes to continue.
    When completed, a dialog box appears with the message that the setup completed successfully.
  4. Click No to display the default options and exit the program.
    To specify one or more options on the command line, to override the defaults:

    ArbortextEditorSetup.jar -i CLIENT -v Arbortext_version -s True
