Contenta tools

Exploring the different ways to access tools in the Contenta Web workspace.

One of the first things you will notice while in Contenta Web is that there are no menus or icons for tool selection. You can access all tools from the Run Tool window, a pop-up window with hypertext links to Contenta Web tools. Available tools vary depending on your role, permissions, and the object that you select.

You access the Run Tool window from the following parts of the Contenta Web workspace:
  • in the object hierarchy in the tree view pane, click an object, right-click, and then click more
  • in an object row in the list view pane, click an object, right-click, and then click more
  • in the Actions column of the list view pane, click the wrench icon
  • in the Actions column of the list view pane, click the Tools link (if displayed)
  • in the banner of the details view pane, click the wrench icon

The details view may be hidden by an expanded list view. To see both the list and details views, click the disclosure icon atop the list view.

In addition to the access methods previously described, you can access most tools from the context menu (right-click).

The tools available to you from the context menu depend on your role, your permissions, installed third-party editors, and the object that you select, but may include the following:
