Moving topics and maps around inside a publication
Your publications are living things, and you will have to move the content around inside it a lot.
About this task
When you grab a topic and move it in the left-hand pane of Publication Manager, the interface tells you where it is going to be moved. When you drag a map, the content of the map moves with it. When you drag a topic, the children of the topic move with it.
When you move a topic within a map, the default action is Move. When the topic is moved from one map to another, the action automatically becomes Copy, meaning that the topic will then be duplicated in the publication. You can change the default actions by pressing the CTRL key (changes a Move into a Copy) or the SHIFT key (changes a Copy into a Move) while dropping the object.
In this procedure, object means map or topic. In Knowledge Center, maps, topics, illustrations, publications, resources are all objects.
