SDL Trados Studio automatically searches the termbase when you place your cursor in a segment, and displays the results in the Term Recognition window. However, you can also manually perform a search in the termbase and insert the term translation into your active document in the Editor view.
Procedure
- In the Editor view, select the Termbase Search tab to display the Termbase Search window. If this window is not displayed, select View tab > Information group >
Termbase Search in the Editor view.
- Enter the term you want to search for in the search box:
- If you want to use wildcards in your search, enter them in the search text.
- If you want to perform a fuzzy search, click Fuzzy Search
to enable the option.
Note: Wildcards cannot be used in your search if the Fuzzy Search option is selected.
- Press Enter to perform the search. The results are displayed in the Termbase Search window.
Note: If you want to see more detail about the term, such as a definition, click View term detail to display the term entry in the Termbase Viewer window.
- To insert the term translation into your target segment:
- Place your cursor at the point in the target segment in the Editor window where you want to insert the term.
- Select the term translation that you want to insert from the Termbase Search window and click Insert term translation.
