Options Dialog Box > Editor > Fragment Matches Window

Use the Editor > Fragment Matches Window settings to specify:

  • Whether you want to automatically bring in focus the Fragment Matches Window and display results for fragment matches if the TM lookup returns no results.
  • The settings for displaying source and target fragments and their context.
  • What font size is used for the fragment match results.

To display the Editor > Fragment Matches Window settings, select File > Options from the Ribbon and then select Editor > Fragment Matches Window from the navigation tree in the Options dialog box.

These settings affect how fragment matches are displayed.

Display results from the Fragment Matches window if the TM lookup returns no results

Select this option if you want SDL Trados Studio to bring in focus the Fragment Matches Window and display results for fragment matches if the TM lookup returns no results. For exact matches, the fragment match lookup is not performed.

By default, this option is enabled.

Display Options

These settings affect the way translation memory matches are displayed in the Concordance window.

Color for highlighting matched source segment fragments
By default, matching text in the fragment source segment is highlighted in khaki. To change the default color, select a different one from the three tabs on this drop-down list. The following are the three tabs that are displayed when you click the down arrow: Custom, Web and System.
  • Click the Custom tab to display a color palette. Click a color in the palette and the color is applied to the currently selected screen component. If the color you want to use is not displayed here, right-click on one of the blank, colorless squares at the bottom of the tab to display the Color dialog box where you can create your own custom color.
  • Click the Web tab to display a list of colors which can be used in web pages. Select a color and the color is applied to the currently selected screen component.
  • Click the System tab to display a list of Microsoft screen components and colors assigned to the components. Select a color/component combination and the color is applied to the currently selected Trados Studio screen component.

Font Size

These settings resize the font (text) in the source and target segments in the Fragment Matches window.

Source font size

Trados Studio displays all text in this font size in the source language segments.

Target font size

Trados Studio displays all text in this font size in the target language segments.
