Overview: New Server-based Translation Memory Wizard

Use the New Server-based Translation Memory wizard to create server-based translation memories from either SDL Trados Studio or SDL Studio GroupShare (providing you have the relevant access rights).

To display this wizard, select File > New > Server-based Translation Memory from the menu bar in the Translation Memories view or click Create and select Server-based Translation Memory on the Translation Memory and Automated Translation page.

The wizard contains the following pages:

PageDescription

General

This is where you specify the name, location and languages of the translation memory. You can also choose to create your translation memory based on an existing translation memory.

Click New Server-based Translation Memory Wizard > General for more information.

Language Pairs

This is where you specify source and target language pairs in the server-based translation memory. Server-based translation memories are multilingual and therefore can have an unlimited amount of language pairs.

Fields and Settings

This is where you specify fields for the translation units in the translation memory, and translation memory recognition settings.

Click New Server-based Translation Memory Wizard > Fields and Settings for more information.

Language Resources

This is where you can create or modify lists of language resources. These lists are used in conjunction with the segmentation rules in translation memory processing and to identify untranslatable content.

Click New Server-based Translation Memory Wizard > Language Resources for more information.

Creating

This is where your translation memory is created with the settings you specified on the previous pages of the New Translation Memory wizard.

Click New Server-based Translation Memory Wizard > Creating for more information.
