Prozedur

  1. Decide for which projects you want to configure file type settings:
    • For the active project, go to the Projects view, and on the Home tab, select Project Settings.
    • For all future projects, go to File > Options.
  2. Erweitern Sie die Liste Dateitypen und wählen Sie den Filter Microsoft Word 2000–2003 aus.
  3. Select the QuickInsert page.
  4. Specify QuickInsert settings to insert tags and formatting, or to insert text and special characters.
  5. Select the Styles page, to specify the styles which, once applied to text, excludes that text from translation.
    • In the Styles to be converted into inline tags: area, type a style name, and then select Add.
    • In the Styles to be converted into structure tags: area, type a style name, and then select Add.
  9. Select the Common page and then specify which content becomes translatable:
    • Select Extract comments text for translation to make comments translatable.
    • Select Extract document properties for translation to make document properties (author, creation date, and so on) translatable.
    • Select the Display complex scripts and Asian text font settings to have formatting information displayed for Asian text font. If you enable this option, the <cf> ('control formatting') tag is inserted in the output text. A large number of <cf> tags can distract translators, so disable it, if this is the case. This option has an effect only on Microsoft Windows computers which have Asian language support installed.
    • Select Process documents with non accepted or rejected changes to process files which contain tracked changes. Usually, you do not want to process files which contain tracked changes, because both original and new text is extracted for translation, which is not desirable. Note that the file type software cannot open a Word file which has Track Changes enabled.
    • Select the Treat soft returns as structure tags checkbox, to treat soft returns (break tags) as segment breaks, or extract them fo translation as text.
    • Select the Treat special characters as inline placeholder tags to treat non-breaking space, tabs and hyphens as tags. If you enable this option, special characters are enclosed in inline tags. Note that the em dash and en dash characters are always treated as text.
    • Select the Process bookmarks as tag pairs to extract bookmarks as tag pairs. If you disable this option, bookmarks are extracted as two standalone tags.
    • Select the Process files with twin4winMark if you want SDL Trados Studio to use the Word 2000-2003 filter or the Word 2007-2010 filter for these files instead of using the Bilingual Workbench filter. Usually, the twin4winMark style indicates that the file is bilingual and that it was produced from Trados Translator's Workbench. Note that if you disable this option, the Bilingual Workbench filter processes a non-bilingual file which has this style defined, the filter produces an empty *sdlxliff file with no segments.
    • Select an option from the Process hyperlinks: list, to specify hyperlink treatment:
      • Always process hyperlinks - All parts of the hyperlink element are available to the translator, including the hyperlink itself.
      • Extract only hyperlinks text - Only the visible hyperlink text is available for translation. The hyperlink is copied to the target segment but cannot be edited.
      • Never process hyperlinks - The hyperlink text is presented for translation, but the hyperlink is not copied to the target segment.
  10. Select Font mapping.
  11. Specify the font mapping settings for your source and target languages.
  12. Wählen Sie OK aus.
