Log on to/Add/Edit SDL Server
You can use the resources available on the SDL Server by connecting to it.
- Log on to SDL Server dialog to select the server on SDL Trados GroupShare you want to connect to and provide your logon details for the server.
- Add SDL Server dialog to add connection details for a server. To display this dialog, click Add in the Servers dialog.
- Edit SDL Server dialog to edit the connection details for an existing server. To display this dialog, click Edit in the Servers dialog.

Server Address | The address of the Trados GroupShare server computer you want to connect to. If the server does not appear for selection, enter the server name. If the server is in a different domain you may need to enter the complete URL of the server. In the Add SDL Server version of this dialog box, there is no list of servers to select from and you have to enter the server name. |
Port | The number of the port to be used by the connection. |
The server requires a secure connection (SSL) | Select this box if the administrator tells you that a secure connection is required. |
Authentication:
| The default authentication method is SDL authentication. With this method you must complete the User name and Password boxes. Both are case-sensitive. If you want SDL Trados Studio to remember your user name and password, select Do not prompt me again. Windows authentication is only available to users who have been set up to use their Windows user name and password to log on to Trados GroupShare servers. If you have been set up to use Windows authentication, the Use Windows authentication box is automatically selected and the User name and Password boxes are automatically completed. Not all user accounts have passwords. |
