SDL Language Cloud Terminology settings

The settings you make on the SDL Language Cloud Terminology settings page determine how terms are searched, matched and displayed in the Term Recognition window.

Linguistic fuzzy searchFuzziness

This slider controls how closely the found term should match the term in the termbase.

In most situations, having the slider on the Recommended side would yield best results. If you do not find terms that you would expect to find, it could help moving the slider towards Maximum.

Prefix Length

This slider determines how many leading characters in a term can be ignored when doing a fuzzy search.

The fuzzy search will be faster for a longer prefix length, because fewer words are targeted by the search.

Distance

This slider determines how far the words in a multi-word term can be spread in a sentence.

Set the slider to a lower value to have a more strict word order

Search Depth

This value determines how many potential term candidates should be evaluated before showing matching terms.

You'll need values that are higher than 100 only for very large termbases (+10000 entries)

Character-based fuzzy searchFuzziness

This slider controls how closely the found term should match the term in the termbase.

In most situations, having the slider on the Recommended side would yield best results. If you do not find terms that you would expect to find, it could help moving the slider towards Maximum.

Similarity

This value determines how many words in a multi-word term should match the term in a termbase.

Use higher values for more strict searching.
