Cancelling a translation job

You can cancel a translation job after you have sent it to translation. When cancelling the job, Translation Organizer also cancels all the projects already created for the job on the external translation management system, and updates the returning object's status.

About this task

  • You cannot cancel a job that is in a Completed status. A Completed status indicates that translation has been done and the job has been re-imported into Content Manager.
  • The job is not cancelled immediately, instead it is scheduled for cancellation.
  • Cancelled jobs are automatically deleted after 90 days. This is a default value and can be changed in the parameter completedJobLifeSpan in the Translation Builder configuration file.
  • You cannot resubmit a cancelled job for translation. You have to create a new one.

Procedure

  1. In the Content Manager web client, select the Repository tab.
  2. Click Translation Jobs.
A list of jobs and their status is displayed in the right pane.
  3. From the list, select the Translation Job you want to cancel.
  4. Click Cancel on the menu bar in the right pane.

Results

A notification is displayed. The status of the job is changed to Cancelled, and the status of all objects in the job (topics, maps,...) turns back to To be translated.
