Copying from other publications
You can copy objects from one publication and paste them into another in the Publication Manager.
Procedure
- In the Publication Manager, open a publication:
- Select Publication > Open.
The tree view of the repository is displayed.
- Locate the folder in the repository that contains your publications and select it.
- In the right pane, select the publication you want to open.
- Select Open.
- Select Publication > Open.
- In the publication tree, right-click the item to copy then click Copy.
This can be an entire part, an entire chapter, or a link to another object.
- Open the second publication; the publication to which you want to add the copied item.
- Check out the map into which you want to paste the copied item.
- In the publication tree, right-click the desired location in the map.
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special...
- Select one of the following options:
Option Description Structure and baseline information Inserts the structure of the copied item together with the version information included in the original baseline. Baseline information only Inserts the version information from the original baseline. Structure only Inserts only the structure of the copied item.
