Creating new users

To allow users to login to Content Manager and access the repository, you must create the Content Manager user.

About this task

Create the user whether using Internal or External authentication.

Internally authenticated users: with this type of user, the login username/password are verified by Content Manager.

Externally authenticated users: with this type of user, the login username/password are verified by an External system. This type of user can be used for single sign on (SSO).

Procedure

  1. Login to the Web Client as an administrator.
  2. Click the Settings tab at the top of the screen
  3. Click Users in the left pane.

The users are displayed in the right pane.

  4. Click New in the right pane.
  5. Enter data as described below:
    1. Name: Required. The user login name. When using Internal authentication, this is the name you enter into the username field of the Content Manager login screen.
    2. Password: Enter the password for the user when using Content Manager or internal type authentication (Type: Internal). If using central authentication (Type: External) do not enter data in this field.
    3. Email: Enter the email address of the user.

Select Internal if the user name and password is to be verified by Content Manager.
Select External if the user name and password is to be verified by an External system.

For example, for Windows authentication enter domain\username.
  6. Click Ok to add the user.
