Deleting all comments from a publication
When you delete a publication, you have the option of removing all comments associated with that publication or keeping the comments so they are available if you re-publish that publication.
Although you can hide comments, you may want to purge them from a publication (for example, to comply with regulatory requirements).
When you delete a publication, you are asked:
Are you sure you want to permanently delete all language versions of this publication and their associated resources?
| To do this: | Specify these options: |
|---|---|
| To delete the publication and its comments: |
The publication is deleted and the comments no longer exist. For example, you cannot see the comments in tabular view. If you re-publish the same publication, the new publication will have no comments associated with it. |
| To delete the publication but save its comments: |
The publication is deleted but the comments are retained. For example, the comments remain visible in tabular view, so you can process those comments. However, you cannot open the topics associated with those comments. If you re-publish the same publication, the new publication shows the comments, provided the topics associated with those topics still are in the publication. |
