Reviewing and commenting

Reviewers use Collaborative Review to check a publication, provide feedback to the authors though comments or edits, and verify if the suggested changes in their comments are accepted and implemented, or rejected.

The Collaborative Review landing page displays an overview of the publications available for review, and a feed with the most recent comments.

In the list of publications presented on Collaborative Review landing page, click the one you want to open, navigate the hierarchy, and browse to the topics you want to review. Notice these features of the topic view:
  • The table of contents (or index) appears on the left.
  • The publication and topic hierarchy path for the current topic appears in the breadcrumb trail across the top.
  • Any comments on that topic appear to the right.

You can easily view, edit, add or delete comments, as well as reply to them, by using the buttons at the top of the pane or provided in the pane itself.

To make it easier for authors and reviewers to understand the immediate context a comment refers to, you can associate a comment to a specific text selection. Selecting a text in the topic automatically displays the Add Comment at the end of the selection.

The contextual content is displayed in a tool tip when you click the Show referenced text button in the corresponding comment.

Reviewers may also edit topics from Collaborative Review provided they have the appropriate rights.
