Unpublishing a publication
You can remove access to content after it became obsolete but if this content has been deployed, it can still be found on the internet (through searches for example). The unpublish feature insures a clean removal of this deployed content.
Before you begin
You can unpublish a publication only after you started publishing it to Dynamic Delivery and it has at least reached the status of Deploying Draft or Deploying Release Candidate. Those statuses are specific to the Dynamic Delivery output format.
You can unpublish a publication output format that has one of the following statuses: Draft, Release Candidate, Released, Out-of-date, Failed.
Procedure
- Open the publication version you want to unpublish in Publication Manager, select the Dynamic Delivery output format on the Output tab and select Unpublish from the tab's tool bar.
- In the Web Client, select the publication version you want to unpublish in the Repository, select the Dynamic Delivery output format and select Unpublish from the right-hand vertical tool bar.
Results
When the unpublish is in the pending phase (status: Unpublish Pending), you can cancel the operation. An ongoing unpublish cannot be cancelled.
