Publishing Assets

To track and monitor the progress of your Initiatives, you need to publish the Assets that comprise your Initiative to a Web site and Activate Initiative tracking. You can publish, republish, and unpublish items.

Asset Publish status
A publish icon is displayed in the bottom-right corner of an Asset on the Initiative canvas to denote whether the item has been Published (if the Asset has not been Published, the Publish icon is not visible).

You can also see the Publish Status of an Asset in the Asset's properties. Select the Asset in the Assets tab to view details. A warning message is displayed if the Asset has not been published.

Procedure

  1. Open the Online Marketing Explorer.
  2. Open an Initiative:
    1. Navigate to where your Initiatives are stored in the Initiative Management navigation pane.
    2. Click a Publication.
    3. Browse through the Folder structure to locate your Initiatives. The Initiatives overview screen displays all the Initiatives in the currently selected Folder.
    4. In the canvas, double-click an Initiative or click Open in the ribbon toolbar to open it for editing.
  3. To publish Assets:
    1. Select one or more Assets and click Publish in the Home tab of the Ribbon.
    2. The Publish dialog appears.
    3. Select the Target Types to which you want to publish content to.
    4. In the Publish Settings set when you want the publishing to start.
    5. Click Publish.
  4. To unpublish Assets:
    1. Select one or more Assets and click Unpublish in the Home tab of the Ribbon.
    2. The Publish dialog appears.
    3. Select the Target Types from which you want to unpublish content.
    4. In the Publish Settings set when you want the unpublishing to start.
    5. Click Unpublish.
