Connector for Aprimo DAM usage in Content Manager

The Connector for Aprimo DAM enhances the Tridion Sites Content Manager so that end users can access Aprimo DAM assets through the Content Manager.

When the Tridion Connector for Aprimo DAM is implemented with Tridion Sites, the Content Manager includes it as a mount point in a Publication's tree structure at the same level as Tridion Sites native content.

Through the Content Manager user interface, editors and other end users do the following actions with external data from Aprimo DAM:
  • List Aprimo DAM collections, classifications, records and asset files
  • Search for assets
  • Select assets to be used on pages, in component links etc
  • View asset metadata including:
    • Asset content type
    • Asset size
    • Description
    • Classifications/tags
    • A list of custom metadata that can be specific per asset type and classification
  • Update asset metadata, such as descriptions and metadata fields
  • View and update localized metadata, that is, metadata available for other languages

When listing records, image derivatives with alternative aspect ratios and sizes are shown alongside the master asset. Tridion Sites Content Manager represents Aprimo DAM records as folders.

The media assets exposed by the Connector for Aprimo DAM can be used in content and on pages in the same way as ordinary Tridion Sites assets. When content/pages are published the selected Aprimo DAM media assets and associated metadata gets included.

The following screenshot shows a number of Aprimo DAM asset records, each represented in Content Manager as a Folder:

Within a selected asset record's Folder, users can view the individual asset files. When a user opens an asset's properties, the External Metadata tab displays information about the asset.

The user can add the Aprimo DAM assets to Components so they appear on Pages published from Tridion Sites.
