If the Publishing Queue shows Success but you do not see it on the website

A status of Success in the Publishing Queue means that either the wrong thing was published, or it was published to the wrong place.

This can be due to the following:

  • None of the Target Language properties of any of your Publication Targets is ever set to the value that Content Delivery needs to show you the content. For example, the Target Language is set to REL everywhere, but you are checking it on a normal ASP.NET website (which requires a Target Language of ASP.NET).
  • The Target Type to which the user submitted the item for publishing does not contain a Publication Target pointing to the location you are looking at. Check which Publication Targets are contained in the Target Type, and to which destinations each of them refers.
  • You are looking in the wrong location. Check the following settings to verify that you are indeed looking in the right location:
    • Publication Path of the Publication from which you are publishing
    • Publication URL of the Publication from which you are publishing
    • Directory Location of the Structure Group(s) that contain the Page with the content you are publishing
    • Directory of the Structure Group(s) that contain the Page with the content you are publishing
