Modifying project settings

By default, all the projects in a project group use the same settings—the settings configured for their corresponding project type. However, you might want a project to use a different translation memory or a different quality model than the ones configured in the project type. Starting with WorldServer 11.3, you can modify the translation memory (TM), the terminology database (TD), the quality model, and the Studio QA Checker profile used by any project directly from the Projects page.

About this task

You can modify project settings from the Projects page only on the new interface. If you are using the Classic interface, the Project Settings button is not displayed.

When modifying the Studio QA Checker profile used by a project, you can only choose between the profiles assigned to the project types of your corresponding clients.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to the Projects page.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the project whose settings you want to modify is the only project in the project group, select the check box next to the project group.
    • If the project group contains multiple projects, expand the tree of the project group and select the check box next to the project whose settings you want to modify.
  3. On the ribbon, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings.
  4. In the Project Settings: <project name> dialog box, make the necessary changes.
For each available setting, you can:
    • Use the value configured in the project type. For example, if you want to use the translation memory specific to the project type, next to Translation Memory, select Use the TM configured in the project type.
    • Select a different value. For example, if you want to use a certain translation memory only for that project, next to Translation Memory, select Choose a specific TM, and then select the appropriate TM.
  5. Select OK.
