Modifying TM entries

Modifying a TM entry usually involves changing the source or the target segment, locking the entry, changing its status, or restoring an earlier version of the translation.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to Tools > Translation Memories.
  2. Select the translation memory whose entry you want to modify.
  3. On the Translation Memory: <name> page, search for the entry that you want to modify.
  4. Select the source text of the entry that you want to modify.
  5. In the Translation Memory – Edit Entry dialog box, make the necessary changes.
    At this point, you can:
    • Change the source or target text.
    • View the placeholders in the source or target text by selecting Show placeholders The Show placeholders button, represented by a pair of curly brackets.. This button is available only if the entry contains placeholders.
    • Lock or unlock the entry by selecting Lock Entry (if it is unlocked) or Unlock Entry (if it is locked).
    • Change the status of the entry.
    • Restore a previous version of the entry by expanding the Entry History section, selecting the appropriate version of the entry, and selecting Restore Translation. The changes made from one version to another are highlighted in the entry history. This section is available only of the entry has been changed at least once.
  6. Select OK.
