Placing background jobs on hold

Placing a job on hold means not processing it, regardless of its place in the background queue. You might want to place a job on hold if you are waiting for resources to be available before the job runs.

About this task

It is a good practice to occasionally check the my jobs on hold or all jobs on hold views and verify that jobs are not left on hold indefinitely.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to Assignments > Background Jobs.
  2. Select the check box corresponding to the background job you want to place on hold.
  3. Select Hold.
  4. In the Hold Background Jobs dialog box, select OK.

Results

The job is now on hold and is displayed in the all jobs on hold view. Job that are on hold are not processed until someone resumes them.
