Quotes and quote actions
A quote is an estimation of the scope, timing, and cost of a potential project. Quotes usually address the following question: How much will this work cost and how long will it take?
- You request a quote from a translation provider.
- The translation provider calculates the cost and provides the quote.
- If you agree with the cost, you accept the quote and start the project, so that the translation provider can start working on it.
On the Quotes page of the TransPort user interface, you can manage quotes and view information about them. In the View list, you can choose to view information about quotes either as a simple list or organized by quote status.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Requested | A client user requests a quote or an update to a quote. |
| Pending Approval | In response to the request for a quote, the client manager scopes the potential project and provides a quote document. The client user who requested the quote now has to review and approve the quote. |
| Approved | The client user accepts the quote provided by the client manager. |
| Abandoned | The client user or the client manager decides to make the quote inactive. You can only delete quotes that have this status. |
If you select Choose Columns, you can configure the type of information that you want to see and its order in the table.
After you request quotes, you can interact with them in multiple ways; for example, by responding to required actions, by adding extra files, or by abandoning quotes.
