Enabling and disabling automated translation actions

You can enable or disable several automated actions when working in the Editor view.

About this task

The following automated actions are available:
  • When the cursor moves to a new (unconfirmed) segment, Trados Studio automatically performs a translation memory (TM) lookup.
  • After performing a lookup, the best match is automatically applied to the segment.
  • When segments, which are translated by applying a 100% TM match (or a Context Match), are automatically confirmed, then the cursor is moved to the next unconfirmed segment.
  • When you confirm a segment manually, the new translation is automatically added to the TM and the cursor moves to the next unconfirmed segment.

Procedure

  1. Go to File > Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, in the navigation tree, select Editor > Automation. The Automation settings are displayed on the right.
  3. Under the Translation Memory, After Confirming Segments Manually and After merging segments across paragraph boundaries sections, select or clear the checkboxes of your choice, to enable or disable automated translation actions.
  4. Select OK to save your selections and close the Options dialog.
