Filtering segments

You can apply filters to the segments in the active document. Only segments that match the conditions of the filter are displayed in the Editor window.

About this task

You can combine the pre-defined filters with your own custom filters. You can choose whether to filter based on the source language segments or the target language segments. You can use regular expressions to search text for all occurrences of a particular pattern of characters. Regular expressions use designated characters to specify text patterns. You can create regular expressions to match very complex patterns.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. In the Editor view, go to the Review tab and identify the Display Filter group.
  4. Select a pre-defined filter from the Display drop-down list. Only the segments matching the conditions of the filter are displayed in the active document in the Editor window.
  5. If you want to add additional criteria to the filter, enter text or a regular expression in the Search box.
  6. Apply the filter:
    • Select the in source icon to apply the filter to the source segments.
    • Select the in target icon to apply the filter to the target segments.
Both the pre-defined filter and the additional criteria are applied to the active document. Only segments matching the conditions of both filters are displayed. If you want to remove an applied filter, select Reset all Filters.
