Review workflows for a Regulated Industry
After you have finished translating a file, you can send it for review before generating the final translated document. These workflows enable you to send files to several different levels of review and to reviewers who can review files in Trados Studio or outside Trados Studio.
During this process, you can, for example, get a subject matter expert review to check the meaning in the translated text and a proofreader review to check for the spelling and punctuation. There are several review workflows available, but this chapter focuses on Regulated Industry workflows only.
Package-based workflows
You can use the following workflows to send files for review to other users of Trados Studio:
| Project Package Translation | If you are working offline, without a shared environment like Trados GroupShare, you can send files for review in a project package to other Trados Studio users. |
| Project Package Translation via WorldServer | If you receive or are working with WorldServer packages, you can translate or review them in Trados Studio, and then send them back to WorldServer. To work with WorldServer packages in Trados Studio 2021 and later, first install the WorldServer Compatibility Pack for Studio app. The app installs as an add-on and enables Trados Studio 2021 and later to work with WorldServer bilingual files and packages, including Live TM connections created in WorldServer 11.x and 10.4.5. For information on installing the app, see . |
GroupShare-based workflows
If you are working in a shared, online environment, like Trados GroupShare, when a file is assigned to users in the Review phase, users receive a notification email with a link to the file they must review.
Regulated Industry workflows
You can also send files for review to reviewers who do not have Trados Studio.
| Reviewing bilingual files with Word | If you are part of a workflow where the reviewer does not have Trados Studio, you can export your |
| Reviewing exported target files | If you need to send the file for review in its native format, and then import the changes back into your project, you can use the Trados Studio Retrofit feature. When importing the reviewed target file, you can also check and, if necessary, correct the reverse alignment. |
| Regulator review bundle | If you work in a Regulated Industry and have purchased a license containing this feature, you can send a bundle of files to an external regulator for review. This bundle contains a specific collection of files needed by the regulator. The regulator is then able to review the documents in Word and you can update Trados Studio with the corrections. |
