Editing termbase entries

You can edit the termbase entries of an MultiTerm termbase from the Editor view available in Trados Studio. This is useful if you correct a mistake or enter additional information in the termbase entry, for example, a definition.

About this task

The procedure below is only valid for the default termbase layout.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. In the Editor view, select the term you want to edit:
    • To edit a term from your search results in the Termbase Recognition window or Termbase Search window, select the term and, then select View term detail. The Termbase Viewer window is displayed with the term selected in the Browse pane and the termbase entry displayed in the Entry pane.
    • To edit a term in the list of terms in the Termbase Viewer window, select the term that you want to edit from the Browse pane and the termbase entry is displayed in the Entry pane.
  4. In the Entry pane, edit the termbase entry:
    • To edit the contents of a field, select the field to open it for editing. Make the required change and confirm it.
    • To add a field that is not currently displayed,
      • To the whole termbase entry, select Add field on the bar at the top of the entry.
      • To one of the languages, select Add field under the language.
      • To one of the terms, select Add field under the term.
      Choose a field from the list of the fields which can be added to that termbase level. The selected field is added and you can open it for editing.
    • To delete a field, hover over the field to display the delete icon. Select the delete icon to delete all content from the field.
