Trados Terminology settings

Determine how terms are searched, matched and displayed in the Term Recognition window from the Cloud-based Terminology Settings page.

OptionDescription
Distance

This slider determines how far the words in a multi-word term can be spread in a sentence.

Set the slider to a lower value to have a more strict word order
Similarity

This value determines how many words in a multi-word term should match the term in a termbase.

Use higher values for more strict searching.

Minimum Score

This value sets a threshold for displaying matching terms in a sentence based on their similarity. Each time a term matches a query, a score determining the relevance of the matched term is calculated. Fine-tune this setting based on the number of results that you wish to obtain by choosing one of the following settings:

  • Exact matches - only exact matches are retrieved.
  • Same root words - only the words derived from the same root are retrieved.
  • Custom - choose your own level of control for the scoring. A score of 100 shows only exact matches, a score of 70 to 99 shows exact matches and words with the same root, and a score under 70 shows exact matches, words with same root and typos.
