Validate the identity provider

After creating the identity provider (IdP) in Access Management and registering it with the IdP (when needed), you need to validate it to ensure the connection can be made.

Before you begin

If the IdP is based on OpenID Connect or SAML, before you attempt to validate the provider, you must have first registered the configuration with the external IdP.

Procedure

  1. From the Identity providers tab, open the provider you need to validate.
  2. On the details page for the IdP (view mode), select Validate.
    Access Management attempts to log in to the external IdP. A new window opens with a message to indicate whether the connection was successful or not.

Results

If the validation attempt succeeded, congratulations!

If it failed, something may need correcting in the IdP details. Check the configuration and try again.
