Adding a condition name

You add condition names for authors to apply to data that is unique to a product, situation, or circumstance. The condition can be used to filter data for publishing or viewing by the end user.

Before you begin

  • You must be a member of the system administration user group.
  • Condition Manager must be installed on your system.

Procedure

  1. In Condition Manager, click All Condition Names.
  2. Click Edit > New > New Condition Name
The Add Condition Name window opens.
  3. In the Label field, type the name of the condition.
This name must be unique; it is displayed in Condition Manager and Condition Builder
  4. In the Description field, type a description of the purpose of the condition name.
  5. In the Internal Name field, type the string to be used to compose the value for the @ishcondition attribute.
  6. Click OK.
The condition name is displayed in the top right pane.
  7. Click the Extra tab.
  8. From the drop-down menu in the Datatype field, select the type of the condition.
You can choose from the following options:
    • Text
    • Date
    • Number
    • Version
  9. In the Range field, click either Yes or No.
Yes indicates that the value may be a range such as 1.0 to 3.5 as opposed to a fixed value.

No allows you to add a list of values as needed.

  10. The Classification field is optional. You can use it to classify the condition names if needed.
  11. Click OK.
The condition name is listed in the top right pane.
