Creating a PubManager Object
Before publishing an incremental update to an IETP, create a PubManager Object, an XML file consisting of metadata about a change package and listing the objects to be included in it.
Procedure
- If it doesn't yet exist, create the hierarchy (Model, Issuer, PMNumber) for the new PubManager object under Publication Management.
- Determine which PubManager template object to copy. Select a PubManager object of the applicable S1000D issue (5.0, 4.2, 4.1, 4.0, or 3.0) and language. In multi-language CSDBs, the source PubManager object must be in the applicable language and must include the appropriate language-country code extension in its name when required. Specifically, object names need to include non-source language-country codes in all cases, and source language-country codes per the includeLanguageCountryCodeInSourceObjectNames AppData setting.
- Copy the selected source PubManager object into the appropriate PMNumber folder.
Note: Be sure to use Copy and not ReUse to copy the source PubManager object.Note: When naming the new object, be sure to maintain the PubManager naming convention as described in PubManager Objects in the CSDB. The new PubManager object name should match the related PM object name except for the prefix (PubMan- vs PMC-) and the issue number, which is part of PubManager names but not PM names.
- From the Tools menu, select Properties.
- Edit the properties to supply the correct Change Package Name, Change Package Issue Number, and other properties.
Note: The Change Package Name must not be empty and cannot contain the word "Template."
- Open the new PubManager object for editing in the (Arbortext or Oxygen) XML editor.
- Supply the correct metadata, including the changePackageName, changePackageIssueNumber, and other metadata.
- Supply the list of changed modules and graphics in the changePackageList, using the sample items in the templates as a guide. Each module or graphic must be in its own changePackageListItem.
- For modules, copy and paste markup from DM/PM references in DMs or PMs.
- For graphics or multimedia, copy and paste markup from DMs, and add an entity declaration for each graphic or multimedia object.
- Save and close the file, and check it back into the CSDB.
