An MNS is a master naming scheme. Every S1000D program in Contenta S1000D must be associated with an MNS.
About this task
The MNS contains the codes used in the Programs or with the Model Identification Codes. When you create a Program in the user interface, you must associate it with an MNS. You do not (cannot) add codes when you create the Program, the Program inherits the codes from the MNS.
Note: If you upload a DMRL (XML) or CSV file, or when you upload Data Module Codes, an MNS is automatically created and you do not have to perform this procedure.
- When uploading Data Module Codes, the MNS created is the same as the Model Identification Code.
- When uploading codes from a CSV file, the MNS is specified in the upload file. See Uploading a CSV file to create S1000D codes.
