Log File Locations
Log files for Contenta S1000D web tools are written to specific locations on the Contenta Web server. Log files for the Contenta S1000D Editor Plug-In menu items are written to a specific location on Contenta clients.
Log files on the Contenta Web server
Log files for the S1000D Upload Content, S1000D Upload Codes, Clip Reference, LiveContent Preview, and Define and Manage tools are written to Contenta_home/logs/s1000d_info.log and s1000d_debug.log on the Contenta Web server.
Log files for the S1000D Publish tool are written to Contenta_home/web/cw_common/custom/S1000D_Publish/logs/Publish_username_sessionID/run#.xml.txt on the Contenta Web server. If the Publish window is still open, click View Log to open the publish log file.
Log files for the S1000D DDN Export tool are written to the Contenta_home/logs/user_name/cas_ddn_export directory on the Contenta Web server.
Log files for the S1000D Validate tool are written if the pertinent flag is set to 9 in the Windows Registry on Windows servers, or via the Contenta fileregedit utility if your Contenta Web server is UNIX.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > XyEnterprise > Content@ > Web > Settingsset the cas_validate_debugLevel setting to 9. Log files for the Validate tool will then be written to the Contenta_home/logs/user_name/cas_validate directory on the Contenta Web server.

Log files for the Arbortext or Oxygen Check Out, Check In, Round-trip Check In, and Fetch web tools are written if the pertinent flags are set to 9 in the Windows Registry on Windows servers, or via the Contenta fileregedit utility if your Contenta Web server is UNIX.

Log files for the XML editor web tools will then be written to the Contenta_home/logs/user_name/cw_xml_co and cw_xml_ci directories on the Contenta Web server.
Log files for the menu item in the editor are written if the pertinent flag is set to 9 in the Windows Registry on Windows servers, or via the Contenta fileregedit utility if your Contenta Web server is UNIX.
In the Registry under , set the cas_manage_applic_debugLevel setting to 9. Log files for Manage Applicability will then be written to the Contenta_home/logs/user_name/cas_manage_applic directory on the Contenta Web server.
Log files for the menu item in Arbortext Editor or Oxygen XML Author are written if the pertinent flag is set to 9 in the Windows Registry on Windows servers, or via the Contenta fileregedit utility if your Contenta Web server is UNIX.

Log files on Contenta clients
Log files for the Contenta S1000D Arbortext Editor or Oxygen XML Author Plug-In menu items (Insert Reference, Validate, ...) are written if an environment variable named CAS_EE_CLIENT_DEBUG_LEVEL is created and set to 4 on a Contenta client machine. Log files will then be written to the /logs/XyArbortextPlugin or /logs/sdl_plugin_s1000D folder in the Contenta_home directory.
