Sorting Objects by Column

This task explains how to sort rows of objects in the list view.

About this task

You can dynamically sort rows of objects list view by clicking on a column header in Contenta Explorer or Contenta Web. When clicked, each column header displays a triangle that allows you toggle between an ascending or descending sort order. All objects in all columns are sorted based on the column that contains the triangle which is located at the top of the column.

Procedure

  1. Click a column heading.
    An upward-pointing triangle appears indicating that all objects in all rows are sorted in ascending order based on the active column (the column heading you clicked).
  2. Optionally, click the upward-pointing triangle in any column header to change the sort order to descending.
    The triangle points downward indicating that all objects in all rows are sorted in descending order based on the active column.
  3. Optionally, show, hide or reorder columns in the list view.
    1. Click View > Customize List View.
    2. Click a column title in the right pane then click Move Up to move the column left or Move Down to move the column to the right.
    3. Click a column title in the left column then click Add to add the column to list view or click a column title in the right column then click Remove to remove the column from list view.
    4. Click OK.
