Uploading the Contents of a DDN

Although you cannot directly upload a DDN, you can easily upload its contents.

Before you begin

  • If the DDN is a ZIP file, unzip it before following this procedure.
  • If any of the objects contained in the DDN are locked, you must manually unlock them in Contenta Web or Contenta Explorer before proceeding with the upload.
  • An administrator must set the following AppData values to yes to enable upload of database objects and permit unlocking them on upload.
    • allowUploadToOverwriteStableData under Global>Settings>CaS_Upload
    • allowUnlockObjectsOnDDNUpload under Global>Settings>DDNExport

For more information about AppData settings for the S1000D DDN Export and S1000D Upload Content tools, see AppData settings for Contenta S1000D tools.

Procedure

  1. On your file system, navigate to the folder containing the DDN whose contents you want to upload.
This folder contains the DDN XML file and all of the files listed in the DDN XML file.
  2. In the CSDB, navigate to the desired configuration or project and select Tools > S1000D Upload Content .
  3. Select Overwrite Object and Unlock Objects.
  4. Browse to the objects extracted from the zip file and drag the files (except the DDN XML file) into the box in the Upload UI.
  5. Select Submit.

Results

The selected files are uploaded into the selected configuration or project and the tool displays a confirmation message. Uploaded stable data objects no longer show locks.
