Configuring Contenta Arbortext Editor integration

Follow these steps after installing or upgrading Contenta S1000D to configure the Arbortext Editor extension. If upgrading to Contenta S1000D 5.8.1, this task is required only if you will use Arbortext Editor version 8.x or you install or upgrade Arbortext Editor after the Contenta S1000D upgrade.

Before you begin

Java Runtime version 1.8 or greater is a prerequisite for running ArbortextEditorSetup.jar on Contenta S1000D Explorer clients.

About this task

  • The log file for the program in these procedures is written to the Contenta_home/logs directory and named ArbortextEditorSetup.log.
  • To specify options in a configuration file to override the defaults, see the Modifying the Arbortext Editor setup configuration file topic, which follows.
  • To uninstall Arbortext Editor Extensions, see the Uninstalling Contenta Extensions for Arbortext Editor topic.

To run the program using the defaults on Windows systems, follow the procedure below.

Procedure

  1. As the Administrator user, at a command prompt, access the Contenta_home/encaps/EpicEdit/Setup directory.
  2. Enter the following command: ArbortextEditorSetup.jar

    You are prompted to confirm you want to run the setup with the default options as specified in the ArbortextEditorSetup.cfg.sample configuration file.

  3. Enter one of the following.
    • y to continue
    • n to display the default options and exit the program
  4. Optionally, specify one or more options on the command line, to override the defaults as in the following example.

    ArbortextEditorSetup.jar -i CLIENT -v Arbortext_version -s True

    -i TOOLTOOL or CLIENT
    -v8.0 Arbortext Editor version
    -sFalseTrue or False
    When completed, a message confirming the setup completed successfully is displayed.
