Uploading codes into a configuration

This task describes how to upload codes into a configuration in the Contenta S1000D CSDB hierarchy using the Contenta S1000D Upload Codes tool.

Before you begin

Before using the S1000D Upload Codes tool, read the Using the S1000D Upload Codes tool topic.

About this task

The Contenta S1000D Upload Codes tool allows you to upload codes from a DMRL or CSV file. The codes are checked for compliance with the S1000D specification standard. If a code does not comply, it is skipped (not uploaded) and an error is written to the FEEDBACK column on the screen. The remainder of the file is processed and codes that comply are uploaded.

Procedure

  1. In Contenta S1000D, navigate to the desired configuration object.
  2. Click Tools > S1000D Upload Codes.
  3. In the S1000D Upload Codes window, drag a DMRL or CSV file to be uploaded from your file system onto the box labeled Drop files here or use the Browse button to navigate to and select the files.
  4. Optionally, to perform the upload without confirming whether each code is uploaded successfully, select Proceed without Confirmation.
  5. Click Are they well formed?.
For a DMRL file, the system displays a message indicating the result of the XML check in the FEEDBACK column. For a CSV file, No check for DMRL is displayed.
  6. Click Submit Files... to start the upload.
As the upload progresses, the tool displays messages in the FEEDBACK column. Progress bars update as files and codes are imported. When processing is complete, the tool displays a dialog with a confirmation message.
  7. Click OK to close the dialog.
