Connecting to a Machine Translation application

You can connect to Language Weaver Edge or Language Weaver by entering the credentials associated with either of these applications.

About this task

The Language Weaver Instant Translation Browser plug-in is compatible with Language Weaver Edge 7.x or higher OR Language Weaver 4.x or higher.

Procedure

  1. Open a compatible web browser and select the RWS logo icon in the browser toolbar.
  2. In the settings window, under Server Setup, select the RWS machine translation provider you have access to:
    • Select Language Weaver and under Authenticate with:
      • To authenticate with username and password, select User/Password and enter the required credentials.
      • To authenticate with a Client ID, select Client ID/Secret and enter the required credentials.
    • Select Language Weaver Edge and enter the details for Server Name and Server Port:
      • To authenticate with a username and password, select User/Password and enter the required credentials.
      • To authenticate with an API Key, select API Key and enter the required information.
  3. If you connect to Language Weaver Edge via user/password, you see the RWS ID dialog. If a company has a federation agreement with RWS, company users are redirected to the company specific login, as soon as they enter the login email. Some users prefer not to see any reference to RWS, but immediately go to their corporate login. To do so, provide a connection code through the Corporate Login button. Your local administrator can inform you if this setting is active.
  4. Select Test Server to check whether the connection was successful.
