Setting user password without SMTP
Users can set their password themselves if they receive a reset password link in their inbox. Administrators can trigger the reset password link either by configuring an SMTP server (for all 7.X and 8.X versions) or by configuring it in the Web UI (for all 8.X versions only). In the latter case, administrators send the users the reset password link, manually, via email.
Before you begin
You need to have a Language Weaver Edge administrator user account to access the following operations.
Procedure
- Launch the Web GUI.
- Log in using a Language Weaver Edge administrator account.
- Go to Manage > Users.
- Identify the user whom you want to send a reset password link and select the key icon next to that user.
- Select Generate and Copy.
- Select Close.
- Paste the reset password link in an email body and send it to the user.
