Searching in a publication
You can use different types of search methods to find information in a LiveContent S1000D publication.
- Searching free-form
The free-form (non-categorical) Simple Search command scans your publication for whole words or word fragments that match the term you entered in the Find type-in field. You can also restrict the search to a specific node in the TOC. - Performing an advanced search
Advanced search lets you search multiple terms in your publication using Boolean conditions (And, Or, And Not, Near), whole words, or word fragments. You can also restrict the search to a specific node in the TOC. - Searching by category
In addition to free-form search queries, LiveContent S1000D indexes your publication to let you search by keywords. The Categorical Search command lets you search for keywords within a category. - Searching in content that contains extremely large tables
LiveContent S1000D can manage table content that contains many rows by segmenting them based on config values that you specify. These tables are optimized when published. - Searching with a Web browser's search engine
You can use your Web browser to find content in the Data Module loaded in the text panel. Invoke browser-based search by pressing Ctrl-F. Depending on the browser you use, additional search options (such as case-sensitive searching) can be selected to refine search. - Managing Search results
You can clear your search results, save search parameters, and load a previously saved set of search parameters.
