Using Client Certificate Authentication
You can configure LiveContent S1000D to authenticate users with Client Certificate (PKI/X.509) authentication.
To enable access to LiveContent S1000D via client certificate authentication, a Common Access Card (CAC) can be used to authenticate the user or alternatively, a public key certificate obtained from a certificate authority (CA) can be installed in each user's web browser.
Once the user has provided authentication (such as with a CAC), the server uses this certificate to authenticate the user's credentials. LiveContent S1000D client certificate authentication is based on the X.509 standard issued by the ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T).
