Editing a package

Use the LiveContent S1000D Publish tool to edit a package of IETPs.

Before you begin

  • One or more packages must have been built using the LiveContent S1000D Publish tool.
  • The user must have sufficient read-write permissions to create and modify configuration, data, and status log files in their respective directories.

About this task

When you edit a package, you can add or remove publications from it and modify its Name, Description, or Date.

Procedure

  1. Launch the LiveContent S1000D Publish tool.
    1. In Windows File Explorer, navigate to folder containing the LiveContentS1000DPublish.exe executable (by default LiveContent/PublishUI).
    2. Right-click the executable and select Run as Administrator.
    The Publish tool launches in a browser window.
  2. From the LiveContent S1000D Publish home screen, click Packages.
    The Package List displays a list of the available packages.
  3. To edit a package, select it from the list and click Edit.
    The Package Builder appears, displaying information about the package and the Publication Selector list with the publications in the package selected.
  4. From the list, select any publications you want to add to the package and deselect any you want to remove.
  5. Optionally, edit the following fields.
    • Description
    • Date
    The tool displays a summary of the values you entered.
  6. Click Build to rebuild the package to using these values or Cancel to return to the Package Builder to make changes. .
    The Package List appears.

Results

The LiveContent S1000D Publish tool does the following.
  • Saves the package in the LiveContentData/cdimages directory in zipped and unzipped versions.
  • Updates the collection in the LiveContentData/collections directory.
  • Updates the PackageData.xml file in the LiveContentData/publishData directory.
  • Updates or creates an applicability folder named LiveContent/templates/FullSupport/httpdocs/book_data/PACKAGE_NAME/PUBLICATION_NAME for any publication in the package with applicability configured.
