Changing the order of synonyms

A termbase entry may contain more than one term within a given language. MultiTerm allows you to order the sequence of synonyms. Note that this action is possible with all layouts except the Default layout.

Procedure

  1. Go to File > Open Termbase from the Ribbon.
    • Server termbases: Select Servers to set up the available servers, and Login to connect to a specific server. Select for each termbase you want to open, and select OK.
    • Local termbases: Select Browse to open a *.sdltb file. Select for each termbase you want to open, and select OK.
  2. View the entry you want to edit.
When viewing entries with synonyms, the entry pane is usually updated so that the currently selected sort term is displayed on top. This is optional and can be deactivated so that the entry pane always displays the physical order of terms and their synonyms. To display synonyms in the original order:
    1. Select File > Options.
    2. In the User Interface box, select Always display synonyms in original order.
  3. Select Home > Edit from the menu.
  4. Select the field label.
  5. Press [Shift]+[] or [Shift]+[] to move the term and the corresponding substructure up or down within the language.
  6. When finished, select Home > Save.

To cancel the changes, select Home > Cancel.
