Creating layouts
A layout specifies how entries are displayed in the Terms view in MultiTerm Desktop. A layout determines which fields are displayed for each entry and in what order, as well as what kind of formatting is applied to field labels, field content and cross-reference or hyperlink text.
About this task
There are five default layouts available for each termbase which are stored in the Public Objects tree of each termbase:
- Flags Layout - It displays all fields except for system and history fields.
- Full Layout - It displays all fields including system and history fields.
- Languages only - It displays only descriptive fields at entry level, only language fields at language level, and only terminology fields at term level.
- Source/Target - It displays only descriptive fields at entry level, only the source and target language fields at language level, and only the source and target terminology fields at term level.
- MultiTerm Classic - It displays the entry as the default MultiTerm 5 layout.
- Default Layout - It displays all fields except for system and history fields just like the Flags Layout, but has an improved user experience for managing terminology.
