Layouts and input models overlap
Input models and layouts are types of termbase object and are termbase-specific. Although they are separate tools, their functionality overlaps when you are editing and creating termbase entries.
- A layout specifies how entries are displayed in the Terms view. They control which languages are displayed and which fields are displayed for each language.
- An input model controls which termbase entry fields you can see and update.
An input model may allow you to view and edit every field that exists in the termbase definition. However, if the layout that is currently active prevents any of those fields from displaying, the input model will not make them available.
