Making termbases read-only

Having a read-only termbase means that the content is available for viewing and searching, but not for editing. A read-only termbase is useful to send to someone outside your organization if you only want them to view the termbase data.

About this task

When you are working with a read-only termbase:
  • You can browse and search the termbase entries in exactly the same way that you browse and search other termbases.
  • You can print out termbase entries.
  • You cannot modify the content of a read-only termbase.
  • You cannot create or modify Termbase Objects for the termbase.
  • You cannot import data to the termbase or export data from the termbase.

Procedure

  1. Select the Termbase Management view.
  2. Go to Home > Reorganize from the Ribbon.
    • Select Set the termbase to read-only.
    • Select an Expiry date if you want the termbase to become unreadable after a certain time.
  3. Select OK.
