Specifying processing options: XML Convert

If you are converting a *.tbx or *.olif format, you can select a schema file to validate against the *.tbx or *.xml file.

*.xml files also include additional options:
  • Validate document against schema (*.xsd) - This option enables you to choose a file against which to validate the *.xml. If the file fails the validation, it will not stop the conversion. Validation failures are displayed on screen and written to the log file.
  • Collect target field names from this termbase definition (.xdt file) - Select this option if you are adding the import data to an existing termbase or want to apply names from an existing termbase definition file to the import data.
  • Default user if user for creation/modification data is missing - If the input file contains modification history, you can put a default modified-by user name into each Modified-by field. Enter the user's name in the box.
  • Create index for Concept IDs - Each termbase entry in an *.olif file has a numerical concept identifier called a Concept ID. If you want these to become an index during import, select this option. You should select this option if you are importing the converted file into a termbase that already contains terms previously imported from an *.olif file.

During conversion, if a concept ID is found to be missing, a dummy one is inserted and an error written to the log file.
