Termbase input models

An input model provides you with a template for creating and editing termbase entries. You can use input models to enter a default value for particular fields. The user can accept the default value or modify it. This helps to ensure consistency while decreasing the time taken to create or edit an entry.

This feature can also be used to enter tips for data entry, for example, please use the Oxford Dictionary as a source for the term definition. When the input model is applied, the user can overwrite the tip with the actual definition.

Full and Short Form Input models

An input model has two states - Full form and Short form.

  • Full form input model - It displays all fields that are available for editing in the current layout model, including any empty fields that have yet to be filled.
  • Short form input model - It displays only fields that have content. Empty fields are hidden but can be displayed and edited if you select them.

Select the Full form input model button, placed below the input model drop down list on the Home tab to toggle between full and short form.
