Termbase objects

Each termbase contains a set of termbase objects or tools. These enable you to process termbase data more effectively.

Termbase objects are termbase-specific and you have to create separate objects for each one. A default set of objects is created for every new termbase. You can identify these in the Termbase Management view as they have the owner System.

The object types are:

  • Layout Definitions - These control which termbase entry fields are displayed when you view termbase entries in the Terms view.
  • Filters - These function like a search to find unwanted terms and exclude them from the current operation. For example, you can filter terms out of search results or out of a termbase import or export.
  • Input Models - These are templates for creating and editing termbase entries. The input model can also be used to control user access to certain fields. This is the only termbase object for which there is no system default.
  • Import Definitions - These contain rules that control the process of importing term data into an existing termbase.
  • Export Definitions - These define how termbase data is exported to a file.
